Quantum breakthrough: Researchers teleport information between two clouds of gas atoms

The notion of successful teleportation seems like a far cry from anything we have seen on such science fiction shows as Star Trek and Doctor Who. However, researchers from the Niels Bohr Institute have stepped up their game from teleporting information between light and gas atoms in 2006, to teleporting information between two clouds of gas atoms in 2013. In addition, every time the experiment ran, the team at the Niels Bohr Institute successfully executed the teleportation.
